This project was completed in 2016. It is a stunning new build detached property in Kingston. This 4-5 bedroom spacious family home was designed to Code for sustainable homes standard 4. It comprises of a large triple height entrance hallway with feature sky lights and WC and shower room. A large Lounge/Dining room leading onto a really generous kitchen/diner and Utility room. The 1st floor has a large quirky bathroom, large bedrooms, Study and storage areas. This leads up to a luxurious, light and airy loft suite with beautiful views, including dressing room and en-suite.

The back of the house opens up across all the different rooms. As a result the connection between lounge, kitchen/diner and garden offers privacy, whilst feeling totally integrated into the garden.

Environmental credentials

Especially relevant to this property were its eco credentials. Code for sustainable homes level 4 was achieved on this property.  High levels of insulation were used, high quality doors and windows, solar panels for generating electricity and super a efficient boiler. Hence Cave achieved a really eco friendly build.

The site of a former bungalow, Cave applied for planning permission for a new two storey property with a habitable roof space. This plan had a slightly larger footprint than the original building. Therefore retaining the existing mature garden and front driveway. One of the key features of the brief was to design a house that looked modern. This was achieved, but was firmly rooted in the history of the plot and the style of the former bungalow. Our clients loved their old bungalow, even though it became too small for their growing family. Now their home is large, light and stylish. Through reclaiming and re-using, parts of their old bungalow live on!

Elements of the old bungalow were retained and some of the tiles and floor boards were reclaimed and used again in the new property. The windows were also designed to reflect the traditional style of the previous bungalow, but to be simplified to let in more light and have a slightly more modern feel.

Now completed this new build detached property in Kingston is light, airy and spacious, creating a beautiful family home for our clients.
