I’m so pleased that I engaged Cave to help transform my home (which is part of a converted Victorian school house). They took what had previously been a dodgy 1980s conversion which was dark and didn’t really work and brought fantastic character back to the property. It’s now a wonderfully light, brilliantly functional and lovely space. I didn’t see its potential when I bought it but it’s now become the best place in which I’ve ever lived. Through their questioning of me they took all my disparate answers of what I like and don’t like and somehow interpreted that barrage of miscellaneous thoughts I gave into a design which both really suits me and the house and one which includes some very clever design touches I’d never have thought of. Further, throughout the building process they were a massive support – being on hand to resolve issues, work around the inevitable unforeseen problems that can arise as well as dealing with suppliers etc when further advice was needed. I’d happily recommend them to anyone – they were creative, thorough and supportive and both Liz and Paul have a really friendly relaxed attitude coupled with a strong desire to help which makes them so easy to work with and I felt very comfortable trusting them with my home.
Martin Burrows, Back To Earth Projects, Tottenham.
“CAVE have been crucial to developing and realising our Back To Earth Projects here in Tottenham. They have helped us to design and create the Harmony Gardens around Broadwater Farm Community Centre in the most attractive, environmentally friendly and sustainable way. They have been helpful every step of the way and a joy to work with over the last few years. We have worked closely together to develop designs that respond to all elements of a varied and holistic design brief. The results have been fantastic! There has been a wealth of community involvement and the projects have been a real catalyst for change in the area and are beautiful and sustainable. I look forward to a long working relationship with CAVE and hopefully they will be helping us to build our new City Farm planned for Lordship Recreation Ground in the not too distant future.”

Working with Liz and the team at Cave has been a thorough pleasure.
From our first meeting through to completion of the project, which was a total renovation of our 3 storey Victorian house, her sensitive attention to detail, style, and ideas were second to none.
Starting with the first set of drawings and plans to the inevitable changes and planning applications, they were all handled with the utmost tact and diplomacy.
We now have a magnificent home and have nothing but praise for Liz as to how it has all turned out.

“Cave was exceptional in delivering a contemporary yet functional design for the new extension to my house. What I loved most was the practical input to my own design ideas. The project was finished within budget and time”.
Phil Chapman, Contractor, Sussex.
“Meeting Liz on the above project I found her approach positive and co-operative with both myself and the customer. She understood the customers requirements and also appreciated the builders knowledge and experience. The working drawings were precise and clear and there was very little need to liaise during the build leaving the customer very satisfied with the resulting addition to the property”.
Guy Lewis, Project Director, The Eco-Refurbishment Company, SW London.

Producing stunning designs with clear and precise drawings. they look after their clients well and make everyone feel part of the team. They have good attention to detail, helping to produce a high quality end result.”

“I had been looking around for a suitable sustainable living project and finally bought a sorry-looking ruin in deepest France. For the most part cob on a flint base, with a variety of add-ons, it had been abused in the 1960s by its then owner who had coated it in a thick layer of cement so that, from the outside at least, it had all the appearance of a WW2 bunker. Once inside though, the potential was clear. I knew Liz Crisp of Cave through family connections and was already aware of her highly-principled approach to her work. She and Vera Hale were keen to help me knock my rough-and-ready ideas into professional shape and we have now been working together on the project for the past four years. Using original materials and methods, always rigourously enforced, (no cutting corners…), what was ready for the bulldozer is now looking seriously good and is attracting favourable comment and attention, both locally and from wider afield. I would recommend Cave without hesitation to all who aspire to new and sustainable ways of living”.

“So…..in your head your ideas for that new build; extension; conversion; Eco castle look awesome. Ok. So where/what/who next?! If you’re anything like us our first thought was to run for the hills whilst locking any visions safely in a box marked ‘come back to when it seems less scary because we haven’t got a clue’ Then we discovered Cave. Liz Crisp and her amazing team somehow managed to make sense of whatever we threw at them (metaphorically speaking, I hasten to add). From start to finish we were kept involved and informed. If an idea truly wasn’t feasible within budget or space constraints the team always came up with alternatives that had us wondering why we hadn’t thought of them in the first place. The vision for our garage conversion and extension came to life before our eyes.
We don’t wish for this testimonial to become so long you take root whilst reading it so we will end by saying that after working with Cave we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them. Their ethos, professionalism and knowledge are faultless. Combine this with a friendly, approachable and matter of fact outlook and you have quite an unbeatable mix”.
JK & Michelle, Hertfordshire.
“I can honestly say Cave have been a delight to work with. Since having our loft conversion and kitchen/conservatory extension designed by Liz and the team they have also designed a loft conversion for my mum. We are all thrilled and then some. So we recommend Cave. They are really good fun too which always helps. Cave made the whole process straightforward, as it can be quite daunting”.
